Do You Have Self-Perpetuating Energy?

Last weekend, my family and I went away for the weekend to spend some time in nature to escape from technology.
As it is now winter here in Australia, our aim was to make the biggest bonfire ever so as to bask in its radiant heat and also to enjoy toasting marshmallows over the flames, something we hardly ever do anymore.
We went prepared, taking lots of marshmallows and lots of wood, while Mother Nature on the other hand, was preparing to give me yet another pearl of wisdom.
Getting our fire started and keeping it alive was not all that easy as we were experiencing periodic bouts of rain.
We had to place the wet wood around the edge of the fire to dry the wood out and when we eventually added the half-dried wood to our fire, it created a lot smoke.
Every now and then, small pockets of moisture within the wood would make crackling noises and cause sparks and embers to shoot up into the sky.
It was only the following day, when I woke up feeling drained of all energy after eating too many marshmallows and junk food the night before, that I started thinking about how the food I had fed my body was similar to the "food" we had fed the fire.
In the fire, the most potent form of energy was obtained by burning dry wood, which was then released in the form of light and heat.
Interestingly, the heat created by the fire, caused the fire to self-perpetuate, thus, the more heat the fire created, the more the fire burnt.
Needless to say, the wet wood drained the fire's energy.
In the same way, our bodies need fuel to enable us to function to the best of our ability.
The energy that our bodies create is derived from the food and drink we consume and the exact mixture our bodies use typically varies according to circumstances such as our physical activity or biological make-up.
What type of food are you feeding your body on a daily basis? Does it supply all your energy needs, or does it leave you feeling drained and lethargic? To become more in tune with your body, pay attention to your energy levels.
Your body will tell you whether you are feeding it the right type of fuel when you feel as though you are bouncing with unstoppable energy.
The next time you see a burning flame, remember to feed your body with foods that will give you...
Self-Perpetuating Energy!
