    • 1). Open an Excel worksheet.

    • 2). Click the down-arrow on the "Customize Quick Access Toolbar." A list of basic commands appears.

    • 3). Click "More Commands" on the list of Excel options. The "Word Options" window appears. The "Customize" option is highlighted.

    • 4). Click the down-arrow in the "Choose commands from" dialog box.

    • 5). Click "All Commands." An extensive list of Excel commands appears with a scroll bar.

    • 6). Select a command from the scrolling list. For example, accounting number format.

    • 7). Click the "Add >>" button to copy the selected command to the list of custom buttons for the Quick Access Toolbar.

    • 8). Click the down-arrow on the "Customize Quick Access Toolbar" dialog box. Select one of two options: "For all documents (the default)" or "For Book 1."

    • 9). Click "OK." The command button appears on the Quick Access Toolbar.
