My Wireless Themometer Saved My Barbecue
Even routine tasks like preparing meals can result in conflicts. For me, cooking is usually a pleasure, I enjoy taking our family meals up a notch whenever I can. A week or so ago, my son interupted me just as I was starting to grill some steaks to help with his math homework, so he could dash off with his friends after supper. I am always available to help my kids with their homework.
What started as a Geometry theroem turned into a theoretical discussion of the universe. Well, my son loved to reason out with people and often rejected correction which makes him a bit challenging to tutor. Then a whiff of smoke hit us. Our supposedly appetizing meal had turned into some burnt meat. I wanted to cry in frustration - but it was too late. It would take more than steak sauce to cover up the damage.
The dog liked his share, but we made do with a distinctly less sumptous supper. That was the last straw, and I took action and got one of those nifty wireless barbecue thermometers.
Luckily, burning meat is now a thing of the past. Well, I still get stuck between multiple chores from time to time. A friend of mine got me a wireless barbecue thermometer which is truly helpful in my grilling needs. I actually wear the monitor which audibly tells me when the meat is almost done, so I have ample time to tend to it, while allowing me to do the other meal preperation tasks. I mostly use it on the grill but it also works in the oven which is handy if I am entertianing guests or doing homework elsewhere in the house.
This wireless barbecue thermometer works through a new technology utilizing digital waves which can determine the meat's temperature through wireless transmission. I've never tested it as far as 100 feet away they say it reaches. I know it reaches my upstairs bedroom in front of our house which is as far as I am likely to go. You can set the alarms so they let you know when the meat is nearing done, and done. I like the advance warning which allows me to pull the meat off the grill when things are just right. It is also programmed to detect the appropriate temperatures for different kinds of meat. I've found it to be easy to use. Now I haven't had a problem, but you do need to make sure the batteries are okay and check the transmitter to be sure its working.
These remote devices still seem like magic to me, but I've come to depend my wireless barbecue thermometer. No matter how demanding my role could be, I no longer have worries about multi-tasking because I can cook and do other tasks at the same time. I now have more control over the quality of our meals and waste a lot less food to overcooking. It may seem silly to go on and on about a simple gadget like this, but my wireless barbecue thermometer has been a great addition to my kitchen and I recommend it to you as well.
