Hot to Put Up a Tileboard in a Shower

    • 1). Sand down the wall of your shower with the sandpaper. This will allow the tile adhesive to bond better with both the wall and the tileboard.

    • 2). Clean the wall and the back of the tileboard with soap and water, using your sponge, then dry the area with your clean cloth.

    • 3). Mix the tile adhesive--if it is not already mixed--according to the instructions on the manufacturer's container.

    • 4). Apply the adhesive to the wall with your notched trowel. Hold the trowel at an angle so that it creates impressions in the adhesive as you apply it. The notches in the adhesive will help the tileboard bond to the wall.

    • 5). Press the tileboard firmly into the tile adhesive. Repeat this for each panel until all have been stuck to the wall. Wait for the adhesive to dry.

    • 6). Apply a bead of silicone caulk between each joint and seam in the tileboards, using a caulking gun. This will waterproof the joints and prevent water from seeping through and damaging the wall below.
