How to Save a JPG as Smaller

    • 1). Browse to the file location on your computer of the .JPG image that you want to make smaller.

    • 2). Right-click on the image, click "Open With," and then click "Paint."

    • 3). Click the "Home" tab at the top of the window.

    • 4). Click the "Resize" button in the "Image" section of the ribbon at the top of the window.

    • 5). Type a new percentage value into the "Horizontal" field that indicates your desired image size in comparison to the current image size. For example, if you want to make the image half of its' current size, type "50" into the "Horizontal" field. Note that Paint will automatically adjust the "Vertical" value to keep the image at scale.

    • 6). Click "OK" to apply your resizing.

    • 7). Click the "Paint" tab at the top-left corner of the window, and then click "Save As."

    • 8). Type a name for the file into the "File Name" field, and then click "Save."
