How to Look Young and Healthy No Matter Your Age
We are a very superficial society.
We try to teach our children not to judge a book by its cover, but we all do it anyway.
How you look can determine whether or not you get that promotion, and many other stupid things as well.
For good or bad, everybody wants to look as good as possible.
It is not, however, superficial to want to look young and healthy as you get older.
We are all going to die and there's nothing you can do about it, but we don't have to look like we're about to die, and that's what I'd like to talk about in this article today.
Of course, you can take the traditional tried and true method for looking young forever which is plastic surgery but that seems like a flawed solution to me because what's the point of looking young if you don't feel young and healthy as well? Plastic surgery will not make you feel any younger, and it won't make your joints less stiff and won't get rid of that back pain.
Why not focus on a solution that makes you look young and feel young as well? It's easier than you may think.
There are two areas you need to focus on to reverse the signs of aging in your body.
Diet and exercise.
Big surprise eh? Our bodies age because of something called free radicals which are contained in the foods we eat.
These free radicals merge with other molecules in our body in a process called oxidation that wears out the tissue in our body and leads to us looking old before our time.
You can reverse the signs of oxidation by eating things high in something called antioxidants.
Antioxidants are found primarily in fruits and vegetables and other healthy type foods like this.
Free radicals, on the other hand are produced in large quantities through foods such as meats that contain carcinogens that help promote free radicals in our bodies, as well as processed foods.
Apart from cutting back on meat and increasing consumption of healthy fruits and vegetables, you also need to exercise in two different ways to help reverse the signs of aging.
The first way is aerobic exercise so that your body stays loose and fit for years to come.
Walking, jogging, bike riding, and swimming are great aerobic exercises that you should do every other day.
On the days that you aren't doing aerobic exercise, you should engage in a light weight training to replace the muscle mass that our bodies naturally lose as we grow older.
You can use light weights, you don't have to bulk up here, but get in the habit of weight training at least three times a week.
And guess what? That's it.
It doesn't have to be any more complicated than that.
Eat a healthy well-balanced diet high in fruits and vegetables and low in meats and get some exercise in the form of weight training and enjoyable aerobic activity and you can live a long and healthy life and maintain your healthy looking body as well without resorting to flawed plastic surgery.
