How to Make a Bootable USB Pendrive From an ISO
- 1). Plug the connector of the USB pendrive into a USB port on the computer. Wait for the icon of the USB pendrive to appear on the desktop.
- 2). Drag the ISO file from its location on the hard drive to the desktop, then drag the ISO file onto the icon of the computer's main hard drive. This starts the copy process. Drag the ISO file to the recycle bin when the copy progress bar disappears.
- 3). Go to "Start," "My Computer," and "Devices." Write down the drive letter that is next to the icon of the USB pendrive. Close the window by clicking the red "X" in the upper right corner.
- 4). Launch the built-in DOS command line interface by selecting "MS-DOS Prompt" from the "Start," "Programs" pop-up menu if on Windows 95/98/Me. Launch the built-in DOS command line interface by selecting "Command Prompt" from the "Start," "Programs," "Accessories" pop-up menu.
- 5). Enter the following, without the quotes, in the text line of the DOS command line interface's window when it appears: "xcopy C:\*.* E: /s/e/f" where "* (*" is the name of the ISO file and "E" is the name of the USB pendrive). Press the "Enter" button on the keyboard.
- 6). Wait as the text lines scroll up on the window. Enter "Exit" in the text line when the lines are no longer scrolling, then press the "Enter" button on the keyboard.
- 7). Right-click on the USB pendrive's icon on the desktop. Select "Eject" from the pop-up menu. Remove the USB pendrive from the USB port of the PC.
