How to Make Baby Shower Candy Holders
- 1). Wash and dry baby food jars, one for each guest, and use soapy water to remove the jar labels.
- 2). Fill the jars with brightly colored candy. For gender-themed candy jars, use pink candy for girl baby showers, blue candy for boy baby showers and yellow or green candy for baby showers where the gender is unknown. Candies such as jelly beans and gum drops come in a variety of colors, enabling you to suit any gender theme. Seal the jars with their lids.
- 3). Cut 4-inch-by-4-inch squares out of a jersey or cotton fabric. The fabric can have a design, such as polka dots, if it suits your theme.
- 4). Lay the fabric squares over the jar lids. Secure in place around the lid by wrapping a rubber band around the lip of the lid.
- 5). Cover the rubber band by tying or gluing a ribbon around it.
- 6). Write out small labels on construction paper to accompany the lids. The labels can read, for example, a simple thank you, the date of the baby shower, or even "It's a boy" or "It's a girl." Punch holes in the labels and pin them to the fabric or the ribbon on the jars. A safety pin invokes classic imagery of baby in diapers, making them an appropriate mechanism for attaching the favor labels.
