Tips on Decorating Small Spaces
Bedroom/Home Office
It is a given fact; that we tend to make our bedroom as our home office too. And if you have a small bedroom, always make sure that any extra space should be utilized properly. By putting some shelves above your computer desk or table you are providing enough space for your books and other things to store or display. By doing so, you have created a storage area for your books and other things at the same time, still leaving an open path in the bedroom. (Note: Applicable only if the desk is installed or attached to the wall.)
Kitchen
Most of us have the kitchen and dining room as one. Try putting a small floor-to-ceiling wall divider which not only divides the dining room from the kitchen but it also does maintain the whole area airy and open. The most remarkable thing about it is that, the floor to ceiling shelves is the ideal place to display expensive glass wares, frames, figurines or other favorite things you want the visitors to see.
Living Rooms
To have the impression of large space, use light colors and shades and also avoid the use of dark hues. For instance, having a gray focal wall and making the furniture such as cabinet and sofa white will surely create a spacious living room. Also adding some curtains between the kitchen and your living room would also further enhance the spacious impression of the room.
Bathroom
Adding some narrow shelves or rack should do the trick on making your small bathroom spacious and compact. The rack or shelves wills serve as the storage for the toiletries, shampoos, soap, etc. Adding a wicker bin for your laundry or dirty things should make your bathroom neat and tidy as well as giving you enough room to move around.
Maximizing any unused space in our home is very much necessary, not only to save space but as well as to have it use for a much productive purpose.
