    • 1). Check the circuit breaker that controls the heater. Find this in the main circuit breaker for the home. Look at the circuit breaker and flip it to the 'On' position. Remove the fuse from the circuit breaker if it immediately flips off.

    • 2). Check the thermostat. Set it to a temperature that is warmer than the room temperature is to see the furnace turn on.

    • 3). Check the batteries in the thermostat if there is no read out on the display. Replace the batteries with fresh ones.

    • 4). Inspect the furnace and listen for the blower motor. You should hear a running motor from the inside of the heater. Check that the heater is in the 'On' position.

    • 5). Open up the front panel of the heater by pressing on the latch release buttons. Pull out the filters and check them for debris or excess dirt. Replace the filters if necessary.
