City life is mundane and boring. The story is not different in the city of Bangalore. Crowded by its IT personals the city of Bangalore surely is one of the most crowded and monotonous cities in India, and so they do need an escape to the lap of nature in between the crowded work load which keep pulling them down each day. The nearest place where they can feel most close to nature is the nearest national park in Bandipur. It is a wildlife sanctuary bordering the city area of Bangalore within few kilometers of driving range.

The park is situated in what we geographically know as the forest of Madumalai. It is geographically cut off from Tamil Nadu by the moyar gorge. For those who love wildlife it is a heaven crowded by around seventy tigers and lots of Asiatic elephants. It is also a paradise for the photographers who love to catch the wildlife in their lenses. The nature in its full bloom and the untouched, pristine flora and fauna is always charming for everyone- without depending on the choice and likings of different people.

The region is warm and cozy with climate being average and soothing year around. The temperature generally varies around 27 degrees Celsius, except for the month of winter from October to January during which the temperature drops to 19 degree on an average. The monsoon here is erratic and depends on the weather around the season. Thus travelling to Bandipur is always an open option for tourists. This is also preferable due to the fact that it is also well connected to all the highways and the nearest city of Bangalore from where regular buses travel to and fro from the national park.

The nearest airport to the park is the Bangalore international airport which is 215km away from the park. From the airport you can easily hire cabs and buses to the national park at your own will as per your budget. The option of state buses is also open. The nearest railway station is at Mysore, from where again you get regular buses to travel to the park.

The road connecting Mysore to Bandipur is the SH 17 maintained by the Karnataka government, and is in very well conditioned state all year long irrespective of the season and timing. Lights can be a little issue on the road at night, but apart from that, most common public facilities are easily available on the road at regular intervals which makes the journey easier to undertake. There are two roads to go to the park and the state buses flow through the state highway only. But if you are planning to go in your own car, there is a better shortcut available following the road via kanakpura, shivasamudram falls, kollegal, and gundipet.

The location of the park nearing the city life with about four hours of journey to reach so close to nature is a great deal in itself. This is the only reason it turns out to be the favorite tourist and picnic spot for the city crowd, as they are also getting bored of their mundane life running in similar circles.`
