How to Use Phantom Power on a Dynamic Microphone

    • 1). Disengage Phantom Power with a hard switch on the channel strip of your mixing board or audio interface. Before you connect any condenser microphone, the Phantom Power must be disengaged.

    • 2). Connect your microphone to your desired channel strip on your mixer or audio interface using an XLR cable.

    • 3). Engage Phantom Power with the hard switch on the channel strip on the mixing board or audio interface. Phantom Power is a 48V charge that travels to the microphone specifically using the XLR cable to charge the dielectric inside the condenser mic. Once Phantom Power is engaged, you are ready to get levels and record your music.
