Stink Bugs and Your Home
A female stink bug reproduces rapidly and this makes them dreadful for farmers and for the homeowners. Stink bugs are everywhere and it does not stop from invading our home, plants, and our lives as well. These obnoxious kinds of insects that have migrated first from China, then spreading in South America, and now they scattered throughout the world are making their way to find their feeds and keep themselves protected and warm in our own house. It may be possible for those bugs will have their armies, infecting every land, crops, and houses that we human are taking care of. Having it forcefully entered our home is a serious problem and it would be better if we start to do something to eliminate them.
A stink bug can hide in every part of the plants, trees, and in our house. They are also attracted to light and heat, to warm themselves especially in cool climate, so it is better to eliminate the use of light if it is not necessary. They find their place to spend winter during fall. They mostly found in an attic, basement, and even in a small open areas of our house. They are incapable of reproduction during the winter, but the reason why their number goes larger is because stink bugs releases an aggregate pheromone that attracts other stink bugs to come on the area. In fact, they do not reproduce indoors and during the winter they enter in a state of hibernation. They are actually harmless unlike other bugs and insects but these pests, as the winter remain, they will just continue to crash in to our house to escape the cold.
Finding ways to control them could be quite challenging. We should have to get prepared before the cold season is coming for the stink bugs and other insects will come to enter our house to keep them safe and warmth. For us human beings, this would be a problem and we need to prevent infestations to keep us from sickness and aggravation. To keep them away, we sometimes use a chemical insecticides or a power spray. We do a lot of pest control and search effective ways to keep our house guarded from all kinds of pests. Unlike other pests, a stink bug is not poisonous, not even their foul smell. They do not eat furniture, woods, or fabric.
Sometimes you need to take out all flowers and plants inside your home to ensure that these bugs will not come near. If there is a need to remove all barren around the area of your house, you may do so. There are some wall paints or stain selling now in the market that has an additive called NBS that repels stink bugs and other insects for a long term. This type of additive can also be added to other paints as well. It is very ideal to use rather than any other pesticides because it lasted for up 1-2 years and it is made with natural products such as plant oil.
