How to Burn Videos Using Windows Vista
- 1). Open Windows DVD Maker from the "All Programs" section of the Start menu, or by typing "Windows DVD Maker" into the Start menu search bar and pressing "Enter."
- 2). Insert a blank DVD into the system's write-capable optical drive. Windows DVD Maker works with DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+R, DVD+RW and DVD-ROM disks, although some optical drives may restrict the compatible disk format.
- 3). Click the "Add items" button and navigate to the first video file you wish to burn. Windows DVD Maker can import most common video formats, including AVI, MPEG and WMV, as well as many still image and audio formats.
- 4). Repeat the above step to add additional video files. Drag the files up and down in the main window to change their order on the final DVD disc. Highlight a video file and click "Remove items" to delete it from the project.
- 5). Click on the "Options" link in the lower right corner. This window allows you to set the disk's aspect ratio, format and playback settings. Click on "OK" to save any changes.
- 6). Enter a name for the project in the "Disc title" box. This name will appear alongside the disk when inserted into DVD players or another computer system. Click "Next."
- 7). Click a preview in the right frame to apply that theme to the DVD's main menu. If you want to edit the theme further, click on "Customize menu." Click the "Menu text" button to change the format and content of the menu options.
- 8). Click on "Burn" when finished to begin creating the disk. This may take several minutes depending on the length of the videos, optical drive speed and available system resources. Do not interrupt the process or remove the disk or it will be rendered unreadable.
