What is expected from Wedding Guests?

There are so many great advice brides, grooms and their wedding party can get from the Internet. However, there are just only a few advices given to wedding guests. To help guests with what they should do when they are invited to a wedding, here is a list of what they should do and not do.

1. Handling the invite. A lot of guests just ignore the RSVP, most do not even reply to them while others reply on the last minute. However, guests should always remember that it is best to reply right away. Most guests forget this entirely and misplaced the wedding invitation right after it was given to them. To not forget the invitation, put it in a place that will allow you to see the wedding invitation such as on the refrigerator. When responding on the wedding invitation, carefully read it first. Do not assume that you can have a plus one unless it is in the invitation.

2. Gift to give. Do not think that because you are invited that you will have to pay for your plate by providing a gift. It is a bit rude to think that some guests think that they have to pay their meal by providing gifts in check that is equivalent to what they think they ate. This is actually a rude trend and most guests should take this out of their mind. Giving gifts in terms of cash or check may be based on what the relationship of the guest is to the couple. Some guests may provide cash or money while others provide cash.

You can check what the tradition of the city is when it comes to giving gifts. It is always important to give an amount that you are comfortable with since it is really impossible to provide what the going rate is since they vary regionally. You can also ask some of your friends and how much they are giving so you can have an idea about how much to give as gift. If you are going to bring a date, you do not have to double the amount. However, you should consider adding an extra for your wedding gift.

While it is not actually a requirement to provide a gift, it is always a courtesy to bring something for the newlyweds. Do not worry though if you do not have enough wedding budgets at the time of the wedding since you can send a gift even after the wedding is done. You will still have a year to send your wedding gift to them.
