Smokers who come to terms that they need to break their dirty habits and start on a clean slate often find themselves procrastinating because they are afraid to suffer from nicotine withdrawal symptoms.
Many who have tried to give up cigarettes have been known to start back again simply because they couldn't deal with the weird things they were experiencing, hence, letting it affect them psychologically making them think that they need their puffs.
  Nicotine withdrawal symptoms are pretty tough to deal with but it can be done.
Early signs would include waking up and craving a smoke, getting agitated at the sight of someone else smoking and so on.
If you're a heavy smoker, you would see that during the first couple of days to weeks, you would wake up with shaky hands and wobbly knees.
Now, when this happens, buck up and pull yourself together.
Then, tell yourself that it's all in your mind and that you can indeed live without the help of a carcinogenic chemical substance.
  One who is really set on quitting would have a routine life of being easily angered or irritated, high anxiety, trouble focusing, being uncharacteristically depressed, and having difficulty sleeping at night.
But this is only natural and you would need to pull yourself together instead of giving up.
The period of time that you go through this nicotine withdrawal varies from one person to another It depends on how much you used to smoke and why.
Sometimes it could take a couple of weeks and others it could take a month or two.
But at the very most, if you have succeeded living without a smoke for two months straight, then you most probably would be able to stop permanently.
  In conclusion, you can stop smoking if you want to, just give it your best shot and stay focused.
