Peoria, Arizona is in the West Valley, northwest part of the Valley of the Sun. The Peoria Sports Complex hosts many of Peoria's special events throughout the year.

Where is it?

Peoria Sports Complex, Mariners Practice Field and Peoria Stadium, 16101 N. 83rd Ave. Here is a map and directions to Peoria Stadium. The Arizona Department of Transportation usually provides detailed motorist information, including any travel or road restrictions, for this event. Call 5-1-1, then *7. The call is free.

When is it?

Saturday, July 4, 2015 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

What will happen?

There will be two stages of entertainment, food eating contests, a cornhole tournament and family-friendly activities such as a kids zone, water slides and inflatables. 

Food eating contests, sponsored by Sonic, include drinking a Route 44 size Slush or eating three pounds of tator tots as fast as possible. In the hot dog eating contest contestants try to eat as many footlong hot dogs as possible in ten minutes. Teams of two can compete against each other during the Cornhole Tournament.

Fireworks will begin at approximately 9:15 p.m.

What does it cost?

Admission is $10 for those 13 and older, 12 and under are free. Some activities may have a fee. Free parking, but after 7 p.m. the lot may be full.

There are seven ways to purchase tickets:

  3. In person at Peoria Sports Complex Operations Office, Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  4. In person at Community Services office, 9875 N. 85th Ave., Monday - Thursday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  5. In person at Rio Vista Recreation Center, 8866-A W. Thunderbird Rd., Monday-Friday from 5 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., Saturday from 8 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  6. In person at Peoria Community Center, 8335 W. Jefferson St., Monday - Thursday, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  7. At the gate, if not sold out.

Are there any discounts?

Presale tickets, available through July 3, are $7. 

What else do I need to know?

First come, first serve, festival seating on the grass. Lawn chairs, blankets, and food are permitted to be brought in. No alcohol, glass containers, pets, bicycles, umbrellas or canopies. A Food Court is available for food and beer purchases.
