Video: How to Prevent Files From Being Copied
Video Transcript
Hi, my name is Luke and this is how to prevent files from being copied. If you'd like to restrict copy access to a file, what you're going to need to do is change its permissions. In Windows the way you do this is by right clicking the filing question, scrolling down to properties, then navigate over to the security tab at the top. Here you'll see a list of users and their various permissions. Since I'm the administrator for this machine, I'm going to click administrator and then click edit. I'm going to repeat the process again on the next window that comes up. I highlight administrator and next to read and execute, you're going to want to make sure that the check box is marked. Then, click apply, okay and okay. Now, when I try to open the file, access is denied. If I try to copy and paste the file, I also get a permission request. And that's it.
