There are many reasons for jealousy.
Everyone feels jealousy at some point in their lives and jealousy actually involves a mix of emotions.
Those experiencing jealousy may be feeling, pain, anger, sadness, rage, fear, envy, grief, humiliation, resentment, worry, self-pity, blame, and comparison.
There are also some physical symptoms of jealousy that include aggressive actions, violence, seeking reassurance, constant questioning, feeling faint and trembling or sweating.
Jealousy can be used for both good and bad though it is normally associated with negative actions and emotions.
The occasional bought of jealousy can actually be positive if you are in a relationship for example.
This shows your partner how much you care.
Jealousy about a co-worker once in a while may push to work harder and reach your goal.
However jealousy can go out of control and this is very damaging.
Many times jealousy can hurt the ones you and can strain relationships with loved ones, friends and colleagues.
Your partner may feel they have to walk on eggshells the whole time and if you are the jealous one then you may be constantly emotional.
If you are jealous all the time then you need to try and work on this.
Sometimes therapy is a useful tool if you feel you need help.
You need to realize what triggers your jealousy and think of positive thoughts when it occurs.
You can also get reassurance for your jealousy though you don't want to become a nag.
If you have a friend or family member that is jealous then you can help by thinking of the problem in a new way.
Don't become defensive when they become jealous but instead be supportive and understanding.
Also take a look at your behavior and determine if there is something you do that triggers your friends jealousy.
