History

• In September of 1970, Astro Travel was began as a retail travel agency by Harley W. Rudd and Frank W. Hazelton. In 1976, Charlie W. Hunter, who is still one of the current owners of Astro Travel, took over as the manager of the company. At this point, the travel agency became the largest in the north-central Florida and south Georgia area. In 1988, Charlie W. Hunter took over ownership with his wife, Rachel. Motor Coach operations started in 1996; they became very successful and eventually the main focus of the agency in 2002.
  
  

Types

• Astro Travel uses several different types of motor coaches. They are a 36-passenger turtle top limousine bus, a 33-passenger Gaval mini-bus, and the largest, a 56-passenger H3-45 Prevost motor coach. It is evident that Astro Travel's main priority is the motor coaches, as its slogan is "Save a penguin. Take a motor coach."
  
  

Geography

• Astro Travel's motor coaches have gone on a variety of trips. Some of the recent adventures on motor coaches have been to Orlando, Florida (Disney World and Epcot Center), Sequoia National Park and El Capitan Yosemite National Park (northern California), Callaway Gardens (Pine Mountain, Georgia) and Tombstone, Arizona.
