How to Change the Light Bulb in a Big Screen TV
- 1). Power down your big screen TV. Let the TV cool down for a few minutes to reduce the risk of touching anything hot. You risk hurting yourself and the TV by working around hot components.
- 2). Unplug all the wires going into the TV. Media devices and the power cord could still be producing a charge to some components. Let the big screen TV cool down for a few more minutes.
- 3). Unscrew the back cover from the big screen TV. Most back covers should easily unscrew with a simple screwdriver. For specific instructions, refer to your big screen TV owner's manual. Have another person help take off the cover because the TV is obviously big.
- 4). Unscrew the bulb's housing unit. A screwdriver is all you should need again, but refer to your big screen TV owner's manual for specific instructions.
- 5). Unscrew the old bulb with a soft cloth. The bulb might still be hot, and the cloth will protect your fingers.
- 6). Screw in the new bulb while holding it with the same soft cloth. Oils from your hands can cause premature deterioration of the bulb.
- 7). Reattach the bulb's housing unit.
- 8). Screw on the back cover with help from someone if you needed help taking it off.
- 9). Attach all media devices to the big screen TV.

Power on the TV and watch as you normally do. You should now have a picture similar to the one you had when you first bought your big screen TV.
