The Secret of Hyperspeed Writing

I know you write a lot.
Here's how to write more, faster.
With the vast majority of my students, their biggest concern is simply getting a cogent thought down on paper and building it into a book.
You can already do that.
So now the focus must turn to the logistics, the actual mechanics of 'hyperspeed' writing.
Here's the strategy that will work for you...
Just as many marketing students complain that "their business is different," so, too, there is a common lament among writers and would-be writers: they like doing what they're comfortable doing, rather than what would be most expedient.
If they print, and I suggest they use cursive writing, they tell me they're more comfortable printing their work.
If they use cursive writing and I suggest they learn to use a keyboard, they tell me they're more comfortable writing by hand (they like the 'feel' of the pen).
If they're using a keyboard, then my suggestion for them, again, is that they feel more comfortable using the keyboard.
Often they'll tell me that whatever mode they're using mirrors the speed at which their brain thinks.
The truth is, the brain dumbs itself down to whatever method you want to use.
My suggestion for you? Start dictating.
Either into a voice recorder or to a stenographer.
No doubt your first reaction will be to trot out all the reasons this won't work for you.
They're a lot like the reasons people have for their businesses being different than those you use for examples.
Yes, it's different.
Yes, it's awkward.
Yes, initially you feel like you're making less progress than you would be with any other method (even a hammer and chisel against a rock).
But slowly, relentlessly and inevitably, it begins to work.
First, believe that this method does work.
Whatever you believe you'll simply set out to prove.
Second, it's going to take some time to become proficient.
Give yourself a reasonable testing period: two weeks, two months, whatever you think is fair.
All writing done during this period will be done by dictation (including copywriting).
Third, think first, then write.
Ever met someone who talks without thinking? Not a pretty sight.
Spend some additional time on that outline.
Before you start talking, know precisely what you're going to talk about.
No winging it.
The more detail in the outline, the easier it will be for you.
Dictation writing fails only when the author doesn't know what they want to talk about next.
Finally, go slow.
Real slow.
Start dictating at a speed that actually embarrasses you.
The slower you go, the easier it will be.
Then, as time passes, allow yourself an increase in speed.
You'll know when you should do it.
Your conscious mind will be complaining about being held back.
Handwriting will give you about 30 words per minute.
A proficient typist, using all nine fingers (nobody uses the left thumb, by the way) can give you 50 to 60 words per minute.
Talking at a very pedestrian rate yields 140 wpm.
In essence, an outstanding marketer is simply an outstanding writer with powerful objective.
It's hugely profitable to reach the objective faster.
