Membership Web Sites - Did You Pick the Right Niche?

When you are selling coaching tools, a great amount of your success depends on the niche you have chosen.
Although most people worry about if the niche will be big enough, often they make the mistake of not selecting a niche that is specific enough.
Here are some indicators to use to determine if you have selected a the right niche.
- Will your niche require long-term assistance to reach their goals and solve their problems? - Are the people in your niche currently spending money to obtain the same benefits that you are planning on offering? - Can you offer insight, interactive tools, strategies, information and/or techniques that are not already readily available online or from another source for free? - Do the people in your niche consider this goal/problem a high priority? - Do you like the people in your niche? - Is your niche narrow enough that you can clearly define it, and therefore provide custom marketing and products? This is an example of a niche that I have sold coaching tools to in the past, "independent financial advisors, earning between 100k - 300k gross per year that want to specialize in helping retirees minimize the taxes on their IRA distributions.
" If you use your top keywords can you find a healthy number of competitors in the same or closely related market with your favorite search engine? Do you have at least one considerable advantage over the competition that makes your coaching tools (business) unique? Can you easily identify with the people in your niche? If you answered yes to the questions above you are on the right track.
If not, take some time to evaluate the niche you have chosen.
If you have considerable expertise or valuable tools to offer then maybe you just need to narrow it down more or take a slightly different approach.
