First Fridays Art Walk

• First Fridays Art Walk is an event series that focuses on promoting art in Richmond. The event series occurs on the first Friday of each month and features almost 40 creative spaces across downtown Richmond. In addition to special exhibits at art galleries, First Fridays Art Walk promotes programs at restaurants, studios and historical locations. First Fridays Art Walk is a free event and is held rain or shine.
  
  

Concerts

• Richmond hosts many concerts thanks to the city's wide array of venues. These venues include clubs such as Alley Katz and Babe's, bars such as Poe's Pub and larger venues such as the Downtown Music Hall. The venues host local and national artists from all genres.
  
  

Museums

• Richmond has a number of museums, each showcasing different themes and exhibits. Museums include the Science Museum of Virginia, the Virginia Holocaust Museum, the Virginia Aviation Museum and the Black History Museum and Cultural Center.
  
  

College Sports

• Whether you attended the school or not, checking out a local college sports game can be an entertaining weekend event for you and your significant other. The University of Richmond, Virginia State University, Virginia Union University and Virginia Commonwealth University all play sporting events in and around Richmond, so you have many options.
  
  

Playing Sports

• If you and your significant other enjoying playing sports, you can participate in some of Richmond's athletic options. As the city's official website notes, Richmond offers options for ice skating, hockey, and disc golf, among other activities. You can play hockey and ice skate at Richmond Ice Zone or SkateNation Plus. You can participate in disc golf at Gillies Creek Park.
