How to Keep My Thighs From Chapping
- 1). Rub a commercial anti-chafing gel on your thighs in areas prone to irritation. As an alternative, use petroleum jelly, diaper rash cream or a dusting of talcum powder. These products create a barrier on your skin and protect it from getting sore and raw.
- 2). Wear snug-fitting pants that are made with natural or synthetic fibers, because these keep sweat away from your skin and allow air to circulate. Avoid loose-fitting fabrics with obvious seams that rub over your skin. As an alternative, cut off a pair of pantyhose above the knee, and wear it under your regular pants. The pantyhose helps your thighs smoothly slide past each other.
- 3). Drink water to keep your body hydrated, because dehydrated skin is prone to get dry and irritated. When exercising, drink before, during and after exerting yourself.
- 4). Lose weight if you are overweight, so your thighs reduce in size and are less prone to touch each other.
