    • 1). Adjust the passenger's side seat as far back as it will go. Look on the underside of the passenger's side of dashboard and find the screws securing the sound insulation panel -- the black plastic panel.

    • 2). Remove the three sound insulator-retaining screws, using a ratchet and 7 mm socket. Pull the panel downward to remove it from the underside of the dashboard.

    • 3). Look under the dashboard and find the blower motor resistor -- the small electrical component -- to the side of the blower motor. Pry the retaining tab on the resistor's wiring harness outward, using a flat-head screwdriver, and pull the harness downward to unplug it from the blower motor resistor.

    • 4). Remove the two blower motor resistor-retaining bolts, using a ratchet, 3-inch extension, universal joint attachment and 6 mm socket. Pull the resistor downward to remove it.

    • 5). Slide the new blower motor resistor into the slot next to the blower motor, and hand-tighten the two retaining bolts, using a 3-inch extension, universal joint attachment and 6 mm socket. Attach a ratchet to the 3-inch extension and tighten the bolts. Plug the wiring harness into the blower motor resistor.

    • 6). Reinstall the sound insulator panel under the dashboard, lining up the locating pins on the dashboard with the locating holes on the sound insulator. Tighten the sound insulator panel-retaining screws with a ratchet and 7 mm socket.
