The Two Houses and the Two Decor Styles

I have been working as an interior decorator for a very long time. I have helped my friends decorate their homes and even professionally decorated restaurants and hotels. Recently, as part of my research I visited two houses which were identical in size and were decorated almost in the same way. However, these houses looked completely different in the way they looked.

What were the points of differences? Many! The two houses were so starkly opposite in terms of their decor that they both almost formed a before and after image in my mind. The first house was chaotic, depressing and very sad looking while the other house was organized, beautiful and welcoming.

The living room at first house was chaotic and unorganized. It was poorly arranged and did not have a proper seating, neither did it have any kind of space utilization. The living room lacked energy and it felt confused. On the other hand, the living room of the second house was properly arranged. The inhabitants of the house was were smart enough to understand that their living room is their family room and it is one area which must have all the things and elements required by the people of the family. The living room of the second house had a big beautiful laminate countertop table at the center with a couch and a couple of cushioned chairs next to it.

The bedroom in the first house had a bad decor. The paint of the walls was too bold for the eyes and it seemed to bother one when one looked at it. The curtains and the rest of the decor also looked gaudy and not so peaceful owing to the less amount of storage space which ultimately meant a cluttered area. The bedroom in the second house had proper store fixtures which facilitated tidy ambience and atmosphere.

The first house had an ugly kitchen with zero space for mobility. The kitchen had no storage space and close to nil space for spices and stocks. However, in the second house, the kitchen area was so well balanced with proper ventilation, proper sunlight and proper space to hold all the stuff. There was composite laminate countertop right in the middle of the kitchen creating ample space for food preparation, cooking, even dining.

I can say as a conclusion that the decor of the first house was ill-balanced while the second house was very harmonious and relaxed.
