What More Could You Want?

To tell you frankly, before I didn't have interest in gardening. But when I came here to Spain, my father introduced me to gardening and later on it became a career and passion of doing it.
I love to garden because it relieves you from any anxiety, especially when you see the hardship that you have done in the garden, flowers bloom and fruit trees bearing fruits. It also helps to have a little exercise, especially for long hours of work in maintaining the garden.

More important is you become a nature lover and considering how it contributes to this world, its beauty, producing fragrance for some flowers. And we humans are attracted for this reason. What more, if you see bees around it and different butterflies that hop from one flower to another? David--

And You Thought Computers were Tricky?

> Fresh air, exercise, wildlife! I love to garden because of the many joys of seeing a seed grow and the humbleness of a failure, (and I thought the computer made me humble). After retiring six years ago, I have made gardening my life's passion. gardenerbea--

Always Room for More

Gardening is my joy in life, besides my spouse and grandchildren. It's relaxing, yet physical and challenging, but to see what you have created, especially from seed is so gratifying. Things seem to take too long to grow, but the wait can be so worth it. I challenge myself a lot to see what and where I can create color. I often ask myself, if I continue this, will I run out of room? I don't much care because flowering plants and ornamental grasses are absolutely gorgeous, and I will never tire of them.

Putting Problems in Perspective

Gardening is my passion, my life and salvation. When I'm working in my gardens I can forget all my aches, pains and worries. No matter how bad I feel when I go out to work I feel great when I come back in. I find my gardens to be my best stress buster.
I do have quiet a few plants, trees and shrubs and I'm always looking for something new that I don't have. I garden for nature because I enjoy seeing the wildlife, birds, butterflies and any little small creature (except moles & voles) enjoying my gardens. We have deer that walk right thru our yard and gardens and very seldom nibble on my plants. We have had neighbors that go out early in the mornings that have seen as many as five deer in our front garden. They come thru here going to nice grazing land just over the hill. I think it is Gods way of protecting my gardens. My friends cannot believe how pretty my gardens are.

I always remember that an hour in the garden puts life's problems in perspective. I am 74 now and with the help of my hubby doing the grunt work I am still going strong. Shelby--
