How to Increase Range on Keyless Remote on Toyota Tundra
- 1). Open the battery hatch on the backside of the keyless remote. Use a paper clip to wedge between the batteries and remove them from their position inside the remote. Once you remove one battery, you can remove the other with your fingers. Look at the diagram under where the batteries go and insert the new batteries into the chamber as directed by the diagram.
- 2). Reprogram the keyless entry to the Tundra. Start with the key out of the ignition with only the driver's door open and unlocked. Within five seconds, insert the key into the ignition then pull key out. Do this once more.
- 3). Close and open the driver's door within 40 seconds, then open and close the door again. Insert the key into the ignition, then pull key out.
- 4). Close and open the driver's door within 40 seconds, then do this once more. Insert the key into ignition and close the driver's door. Turn the ignition to the "On" position but do not start, then turn the key to the "Off" position and remove the key from the ignition. The power door locks should lock then unlock automatically, indicating successful entry into programming mode.
- 5). Press the "Lock" and "Unlock" buttons simultaneously for 1.5 seconds within 40 seconds of the vehicle entering the programming mode. Immediately after letting go of the lock and unlock buttons, press the "Lock" button by itself and hold it for 2 seconds. Within 3 seconds, the doors will lock and then unlock indicating successful programming. Open driver's door to exit the programming mode.
