Poker Training Network: Developing Your Leadership Charisma (Phase 2)
In my last article, I told you about a very simple way to look at developing your own leadership charisma.
In case you did not read the article or post (depending on where you accessed it), it was based on a simple formula: If you want to be a leader, here is the math: Expert Knowledge + Effort =Potential Leadership Potential Leadership + Communication Skills = Charismatic Leaders Now, in this article, I wanted to bring to the table some practical ways to improve your communication skills.
We talked about the beginnings of that in the last article too-it involved letting other members of the group (or Poker Training Network team you are building in my example) contribute in the agenda setting a development of the group.
I'm not saying lose control of the agenda, just allow others to contribute.
Now, I'd like to discuss how to communicate in a way that develops your charisma-but first we need to understand Management by Inspiration Charismatic Leaders Manage by Inspiration.
In other words, if you want to be a leader, you can't resort to dealing with problems by saying 'it's the dummies at the top that are causing our problem with the compensation plan, the marketing of the product, the lack of leads, etc'.
The fact is that to your team YOU are the 'dummy at the top' and that will come across as passing the buck.
Once you resort to passing the buck, your team members will begin looking for that person to solve their problems or more likely, lose interest in the business as a whole.
Remember, it is easy to start and MLM business but very easy to quit one as well.
You are the expert, remember? So, the specific underpinnings of your Charisma Building Program are to understand Two Concepts:
For example, would you address a CEO of a Fortune 500 company in the same way that you would address a group of hourly workers at Wal-Mart? The groups have completely different needs and desires and using the same presentation to both would be a major issue.
The simple facts are you need to understand a little about what each group needs.
In your Poker Training Network business you will probably have people from all walks of life and it would serve you well to understand at little something about the background of the people you are developing for leadership positions.
In my next article in this series, I'm going to give you a beginning of 7 specific techniques of developing your personal charisma.
See you there!

- Tell stories from your own life and experiences.
The famous Mary Kay story is an example.
She would always discuss how a bumblebee, according to scientific study, should not be able to fly.
But since bumblebees weren't scientists, they managed to fly very well.
This simple story inspired countless women to do well in Mary Kay, simply because they could identify with the bumblebee in the story-because they understood they could be successful just like the bee in the story with help and encouragement, regardless of what anyone else might say. - Talk in the Language of the audience.
