How to Replace a Double-Ended Halogen Bulb

    • 1). Remove the outer covering from the light and set it aside. Most work lights have a protective covering on the outside in the event the light should fall while in use.

    • 2). Remove the UV shield and set it aside in a safe place.

    • 3). Remove the old double-ended halogen bulb from the light and discard it. Make sure the bulb is not hot before touching it.

    • 4). Use a clean cloth to handle the new bulb. Install it in the fixture by lining it up with the two terminals inside the fixture. Make sure not to touch the new lamp with your fingers--fingerprints will shorten the life of the bulb.

    • 5). Replace the UV filter and the protective covering.
