How to Save Money on Groceries Without Really Trying
A while back I learned a great tip on how to save money on groceries with minimal effort.
I must admit it's not my original idea; my next door neighbor who also happens to be my best friend has been doing this for years and says its been handed down in her family through the last four decades.
Before we go any further you should know this method involves the help of another family member or friend.
As you probably know, saving money through the use of coupons is fairly easy to do but it can be time-consuming for some.
Here's how to start using this method: 1.
Get two copies of the Sunday newspaper and have your kids cut out all the coupons from the inserts with safety scissors.
Make sure your children are old enough and responsible enough to use the scissors and always supervise them while they do it.
By letting them do all the grunt work and offering them something in exchange for their services you can teach them valuable life skills not only about receiving a reward for hard work but they will also learn a great lesson in saving money through the use of coupons.
I usually reward my kids with extra play time at the park or the promise of a weekend visit to the neighborhood pool.
2.
While they are cutting out those free coupons you can sit at your computer looking through a few of your favorite web sites and picking out your online printable coupons.
By using this method you can cut your time in half and, although this is only one of a handful of methods I use to save time, it's definitely my favorite.
You will probably also learn your own methods on how to save money on groceries without much effort as you become more experienced in the art of "couponing".
Just make sure you share the tips!.
