    • 1). Put on protective goggles and gloves.

    • 2). Make a mark on the back edge of the bathroom counter to center the sink using a washable marker. Align the sink template with the mark, centering its back edge approximately 1 1/2 inches from the counter. Trace around the template.

    • 3). Drill holes inside the radius of each corner using a 1/2-inch spade bit.

    • 4). Insert a jigsaw blade into one of the front holes. Saw along the template line to the back hole. Repeat on the opposite side.

    • 5). Set a piece of scrap wood across the designated sink area. Use a piece that measures at least 2 inches longer than the template cuts on either side. Drill screws through the wood and into the counter piece that is being removed. This prevents it from falling through while you continue to cut the piece out.

    • 6). Cut along the front and back template lines with the jigsaw. Carefully lift and remove the cut-out counter piece. Set the sink in the hole to check the fit. If it is too snug, use the jigsaw carefully to widen the hole.

    • 7). Set the sink upside down on a flat surface. Identify the gasket that connects the faucet to the sink. Insert the faucet's supply tubing and tailpiece through the gasket and through the holes in the sink. Apply a thin bead of silicone caulk to the base of the faucet. Secure the faucet with mounting nuts and washers, screwing them to the underside of the sink with a crescent wrench.

    • 8). Install the drain according to the sink manufacturer's instructions. This usually involves applying a thick roll of plumber's putty or silicone caulk to the underside of the drain lip. The drain is pushed into the drain opening of the sink and connected on the underside of the sink with a washer assembly.

    • 9). Apply a bead of silicone caulk to the underside of the sink's lip, following the perimeter of the flange.

Turn the sink over and set it into place in the prepared counter opening. Adjust the fit until the front of the sink is parallel with the front edge of the bathroom counter. Remove excess caulk with a wet rag.

    • 11

Connect the flexible supply lines to the faucet assembly according to the sink manufacturer's instructions. Tighten the connections with the crescent wrench.

    • 12

Connect the trap adapter to the sink drain pipe. Connect pieces of PVC pipe to the trap adapter until it fits into the drain elbow. Connect the drain elbow into the waste line. Remove all pieces and cut the ends with a utility knife. Cover all ends with a layer of PVC primer and allow it to dry. Reconnect and assemble the pieces. Hand tighten all connections.

Turn on the water supply lines. Run the water and check for leaks. If any leaks are found along the supply and drain lines, tighten all nuts until the leaks stop. Turn off the water.
