Time Frame

• Asiatic lilies bloom in early summer, flowering for at least two to four weeks and sometimes longer. Flowers, 4 to 6 inches wide, grow in upward, horizontal or drooping positions on stems that vary from 18 inches to 4-1/2 feet in height, depending on the species.
  
  

Considerations

• Although Asiatic lilies bloom only once a year, gardeners achieve longer blooming times by planting a variety of lilies that bloom at different times. Asiatic lilies bloom first, followed next by trumpet lilies and finally Oriental lilies.
  
  

Tip

• Asiatic lilies produce the largest number of blooms when spent flowers are removed. This keeps the plant from putting energy in to seed production.
