Severe Teenager Anxiety = Panic Attacks

If you are a teenager searching for information on some very troubling feelings you've begun to have and you've found this article, it is very likely that you are experiencing a form of teenager anxiety called panic attacks.
Here are the symptoms: oIntense fearfulness (a sense that something terrible is happening or about to happen) oRacing or pounding heartbeat oDizziness or lightheadedness oShortness of breath or a feeling of being smothered oTrembling or shaking oSense of unreality oFear of dying, losing control, or losing your mind As if your teen years aren't hard enough: - pressure at school, pressure at home, either you're in with some popular kids and want to stay there or you think you're weird and don't want to be seen as weirder yet - and now this.
Why, you ask.
Why me? To begin, you are in the highest risk group.
Young people 13 to 17 years old experience the most first-time panic attacks.
The attacks are greatly related to stress.
It could be a new school, maybe your parents are separating, maybe you've just had your first love go wrong, maybe you're pushing yourself for perfection in school, top grades and all, or maybe none of the above.
But probably some of the above, especially if you have a parent who has had panic attacks.
And how do you deal with it? Hopefully, you have parents or a parent who will listen and want to find answers for you, with you.
But not everybody has that.
So think of someone you trust, an aunt, an uncle, the school nurse, a teacher, your doctor, the parent of a friend, and tell them you need to talk about something important in your life.
Be honest.
Tell them you need help.
Keep educating yourself on what's going on with these panic attacks.
Look for more of my articles and my website.
I started having panic attacks at ten years old and didn't know how to deal with them effectively until I was in my 20s so I know very well what you are feeling.
I also know that you can stop these horrible interruptions in your life.
You didn't do anything to bring this on and you don't deserve to suffer from these attacks that put you in a state of pure terror.
