There are tons of workouts to gain inches...
and yet most players put don't get any results from them.
Why most athletes fail to gain inches...
First things first...
your fast twitch muscles are responsible for leaping.
This is a very important point and one that most players miss.
The majority make the mistake of training for endurance instead of athleticism, and it's really not their fault.
There is a lot of misinformation out there on how to jump higher fast.
While the specific training you do are important, how you do it is even more critical.
What to AVOID AT ALL COSTS when working out You should not do high repetition vertical leap exercises because this is training your muscles for endurance..
..
not athleticism.
The RIGHT WAY to train If you want to train your fast twitch muscles you need to do low reps and high intensity...
not low intensity and high rep increase vertical workouts like most players do.
How long should you work out for? Generally you should keep your sets between 6-8 seconds because this is the length of time you can maintain peak performance.
However, the important point to remember is to stop the set when you feel your performance tailing off.
If you keep going you are just training for endurance and not the fast twitch muscles.
What workouts are the best? There are a ton of plyometrics routines and weight lifting regimes that are effective...
and some ones you can start with are calf raises, squats, deadliest, depth and box jumps.
