Mayor Annise Parker and the City of Houston will host Freedom Over Texas, Houston's official Fourth of July extravaganza. The six-hour festival has been a Houston tradition for decades and continues to showcase a host of nationally-known musical performers. This year's headliners include Jack Ingram, Chris Young and Rodney Atkins.

How Much:
Admission is FREE when you donate one canned food item per person to the Houston Food Bank. Otherwise, tickets are $8 per person over the age of 2.

What:
Freedom Over Texas is an outdoor festival celebrating the Fourth of July. Country music artists perform live throughout the evening and the event closes with a stunning fireworks display accompanied by a music medley via 100.3 KILT. The festival is divided into several zones that feature booth exhibits, street characters, refreshments, games and more. Zones include the Bud Light Zone, All American Kids Zone, Reliant's Red, White and Green Scene and more.

Bud Light Zone: In this area you can grab a cold one from the Budweiser Beer Garden, dance to sounds played by DJ Kracker Nuttz and here live music from Ira Perez. Stop by the Bud Light MXT Vehicle for a round or two of Guitar Hero III.

All American Kids Zone: Walmart will sponsor this 30,000 square foot area filled with historical costumed characters, rides, face painters, games and much more.

Be sure to catch one of the kid performances of Alice in Wonderland, Cirque Mystery and Animal Adventures.

Red, White and Green Scene: Browse exhibits demonstrating the importance and impact of recycling, use of solar power, sustainable transportation and green building.

In case you aren't able to attend Freedom Over Texas, the event will be televised from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. on ABC-13.
