How to Power Wash a Grill
- 1). Fill the reservoir of the power washer with a solution of grill degreaser and water. Follow the directions on the degreaser container for dilution ratios.
- 2). Open the cabinet of the grill and unhook the propane tank from the grill pipe. If your grill is electric, unplug it from the power source. Set the propane aside.
- 3). Prop open the hood of the grill. Close the grill cabinet where the propane tank was.
- 4). Turn on the pressure washer and direct the flow to the bottom of the grill. Slowly move the spray upwards, covering the entire grill with the solution of water and degreaser. Let the solution sit for as long as directed on the degreaser container.
- 5). Screw a medium-power nozzle onto the end of the pressure washer hose. Empty the reservoir of the washer and fill it with clean water. Rinse the grill with the clean water by directing the spray at the top of the grill and moving it downwards. Rinse the entire surface of the grill, then let it dry in a sunny spot until all the water evaporates.
- 6). Replace the propane tank. Dampen a paper towel with olive oil and wipe down the grates so food you cook in the future does not stick.
