How to Mount Brackets for Window Shades
- 1). Measure the length of the curtain rod. Mark the center point of the window with a pencil. Subtract two inches from the length of the curtain rod and measure half this distance from the center point toward the side of the window. Mark it with a pencil.
- 2). Mark the required holes, using the curtain rod bracket as a guide. Drill holes into the wall at the marked locations.
- 3). Attach the curtain rod brackets to the wall with the wood screws, using the drill. Repeat the process for the other side.
- 4). Thread the curtain rod through the loops or pocket at the top of the shade. Hang the rod on the brackets and adjust the location of the shades to block the light.
