Lint, Roller and Sponge Brushes

• Lint brushes, roller brushes and sponges are particularly designed to remove the hard pet dander that cats leave within the home. Lint brushes pick up hair that contains pet dander. Sticky lint rollers have adhesives that grab and remove dander and fur from furniture and other household fabrics. The sponge removes the dander as it collects fur up into a ball for disposal. A damp mop or rag can help keep sticky cat dander at bay as well.
  
  

Shampoo/Steam Cleaning

• Frequently shampooing and steam cleaning your furniture works well to remove cat dander, and there are specialty shampoos that remove allergens, odors and animal residues from furniture and carpets.
  
  

HEPA Vacuum Cleaning

• Vacuum often with a high efficiency particulate air (HEPA) equipped vacuum cleaner, which is said to reduce allergens by up to 90 percent over standard vacuum cleaners, says the Allergy Clinic. Standard vacuum cleaners stir up the allergens.
