    • 1). Load a caulking gun with construction adhesive. Pull back the slide plunger and insert the pointed end of the tube through the circular end of the gun. Allow the body of the tube to rest on the caulking gun's housing. Slowly release the slide plunger until it lies on the bottom of the tube.

    • 2). Cut the pointed end of the tube with a utility knife at a 45-degree angle. Pierce the inner seal of the tube with a sharp nail.

    • 3). Run a bead of construction adhesive along the wall where you will install the molding. Squeeze the trigger on the caulking gun while moving it along the length of the wall. Keep a steady hand to ensure straight lines.

    • 4). Press the molding into the adhesive. Run your hand from beginning to end and press forcefully to ensure a good bond.

    • 5). Wedge a piece of wood running from the surface of the molding to the floor at a 45-degree angle every 3 feet to hold the molding in place as the construction adhesive dries. Wrap a rag around the end of the wood brace to protect the surface of the molding.
