  The Onkyo Corporation was founded in 1946. Onkyo USA, a division of the company, is based in New Jersey. This company produces music and sound products, such as home theater systems, amplifiers, tuners, speakers and DVD, CD and Blu-ray players. The TX-SR674 is a stereo and home theater A/V receiver that weighs 25.1 lbs and measures approximately 17 inches wide, 7 inches high and 14 inches deep.
  
  

Tuner Section

• In terms of usable sensitivity, the FM Mono of the TX-SR674 tuner is 15.2 dBf, or 1 uV. The FM stereo is 22.2 dBf, or 2 uV and the AM is 300 uV/m. The S/N Ratio of the FM Mono is 73 dB, or decibels, and it is 67 dB for the FM Stereo and 40 dB for the AM. The FM Mono has a 0.3 percent, 1 kHz THD, or rated power, while the FM Stereo has a 0.5 percent, 1 kHz THD and the AM THD is 0.7 percent. The FM Stereo separation is 40 dB at 1 kHz.
  
  

Amplifier Section Power

• The Onkyo TX-SR674 receiver has two power output options, the first being 8 ohm, 20 Hz-20 kHz, FTC, and the second being a 6 ohm, 1 kHz, FTC output. The front dynamic power is 225 W at three ohms, 170 W at four ohms, and 105 W at eight ohms. The THD, or rated power, is 0.08 percent. The damping factor is 60 at 1 kHz or eight ohms.
  
  

Audio System

• The TX-SR674 audio system uses a surround sound output mode. It has a 24-bit audio D/A converter and a digital sound processor. It has many built-in decoders, such as Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Surround EX, and Dolby Pro Logic II and IIX. The digital sound processor presets include mono movie, orchestra, unplugged and studio-mix. The surround system class is 7.1 channel, the signal-to-noise ratio is 106.0 dB and the input impedance is 47 KOhm. The total harmonic distortion is 0.08 percent, and the input sensitivity is 200 mV. Additional audio system features include bass and treble controls, sleep timer, clock, display dimmer, CinemaFILTER and a wide range amplifier technology.
  
  

Connectors, Radio and Remote Control

• The TX-SR6740h as a version 1.1 HDMI (high-definition multimedia interface) connection, which is beneficial for watching video. This connection has 2/1 switching input output and a bandwidth of up to 1080p. Other connectors include a headphone jack, optical digital output and input, and coaxial digital input. It has an AM/FM digital radio tuner with 40 station preset options. The AM frequency range is 530 to 1710 kHz and the FM frequency range is 87 to 108 kHz. It is XM satellite radio ready. This product supports the use of an infrared universal remote control with devices such as VCRs, DVD players and televisions.
