For the first time you brought that puppy to your house the puppy is very cute and the dog try to get your attention by jumping up asking you to pick him, and you encourage him by picking the puppy.
The problem comes when the dog have grown into a large and heavier dog.
At this rate his behavior is no longer cute, but very annoying and frustrating.
One of the simplest ways to stop a dog from jumping is by be consistent on your behavior to the dog jumping behavior.
You must not encourage it.
Next time the dog is jumping around to get your attention, give him command to sit.
You can try this trick, when the dog is jumping you go stiff and turn your back a little and command the dog to sit, help the dog to sit if needed.
You have to make this the new response to your dog's jumping.
Be consistent with this, and every time the dog sit you give the dog a praise or a treat.
Your dog will think that by sitting is the way for the dog to get your attention and whenever he comes to you and sit remember to give the dog a praise.
Another way to stop a dog from jumping is to ignore the dog whenever the dog is jumping to get your attention, if you consistently ignore the dog, eventually the dog will understand and know that he can't get your attention by jumping and the dog will stop doing it.
As long as you consistent with this, your dog will understand will jumping at you to gain your attention.
To stop a dog from jumping is simple if you stay consistent and patient.
