    • 1). Put on the gloves to protect your hands from the oils in the peppers.

    • 2). Wash the peppers thoroughly under running water to remove dirt and debris.

    • 3). Dry the peppers thoroughly with a towel.

    • 4). Cut the tops off the peppers and discard them.

    • 5). Slice the peppers in half and remove the seeds, if you desire.

    • 6). Preheat the oven to no more than 200 degrees Fahrenheit.

    • 7). Place the peppers on the cookie sheets without any of them touching.

    • 8). Dry the peppers for several hours in the over. It may take as long as overnight. Remove them and allow them to cool. Store them in a sealable plastic bag or large glass container with a lid.
