Slippery Marble Floors
As beautiful as a marble floor can be, it can also be very dangerous when it is wet. Many homeowners and/or companies will still select marble flooring because of how beautiful it makes a room or entrance look. There is an option to make the floor slip resistant while still keeping the beautiful look.
Let's take for example, a highly polished marble entry. During a rain the surface may get wet just from wet shoes tracking across. This will cause a safety issue. Usually, someone will put up the yellow floor sign at this point to warn patrons about the slippery surface. We at Slip Resistant Solutions, Inc. believe that these floors should be treated with our non slip floor treatment for polished marble. After it is treated it should be cleaned with a cleaner that does not have "soap" in it. It should be rinsed very well. If the floor is in a public place then it is important to also consider having some sort of signage to remind people about the possibility of a slip and fall. Taking these precautions will help avoid accidents and potential lawsuits. Documenting these steps will help to protect you if someone still should have a fall.
Since bathrooms are one of the top five places an accident can take place it is important to consider this room if marble is in it. Both unpolished marble and polished marble will be able to be treated to raise the coefficient of friction so that they will be safe. Unpolished marble should be treated using the middle grade product which we call our Ceramic Tile product. We only use the Polished Surface Product on highly polished marble, granite or porcelain.
Taking these measures to make slippery wet floors of any kind slip resistant will reduce accidents. Doing the process is not difficult. It can be done in an hour or two. It might really save someone some pain from a fall. It might help avoid a lawsuit as well. Don't rely on a yellow sign to keep your customers safe.
