A report card is an evaluation tool issued by teachers typically on a quarterly basis throughout the school year. A traditional report card provides students and parents with a final grade for a quarter/nine weeks or semester.

Report cards can also include information such as attendance, tardies, and student behavior.

Some report cards are standards based. A standard based report card provides parents and students with a checklist of skills that students have and have not mastered.
