Health advocates work to educate individuals and communities on subjects ranging from disease prevention to health care services. Several organizations across the country offer grants to health advocates, including business organizations, state and local governments, and non-profit foundations. Most grants are available to non-profit organizations working on behalf of health advocacy in a particular region or community. - Post Foods LLC, in partnership with the National Wellness Institute, organized a grant program that is designed to offer financial support to one organization looking to boost health and nutrition advocacy in a particular community. Applicants must submit an essay detailing an advocacy or health education program to be considered for the $25,000 grant. Post Foods selects 10 finalists, and the grand winner is chosen by public vote. The grant is awarded to whichever organization has the most innovative idea for spreading health and nutrition information, whether that be through community projects, nutrition classes or fitness programs.
