    Transmitter Setup

    • The heart rate transmitter needs to be worn correctly to ensure an accurate reading of your heart rate. The transmitter is placed around your midsection, just below your chest. To put on the transmitter, push the tab of the strap through the slot on the transmitter. Push down on the tab to connect it to the transmitter. Wrap the other side of the strap around your midsection and connect it to the other side of the transmitter. The transmitter should be tight enough so that the sensors are snug against the skin, but not so tight that it is uncomfortable. Use tap water to wet the sensors on the back of the transmitter. This will allow the sensors to gauge your pulse accurately.

    Using the Watch

    • Once you start your workout, monitor your heart rate and the amount of calories you burned during the workout. To monitor your workout, press the "Mode" button on the watch until "Cron" mode displays. In Cron mode, a stopwatch will run and your heart beats per minute will display below the stopwatch. Once in Cron mode, start your workout. The stopwatch will begin automatically.

If you want to review your workout heart rate as a percentage of your maximum heart rate, press the "Start/View" button. Check your calories burned by pressing the "Start/View" button again. Finally, press the "Start/View" button a third time to return to your heart beats per minute.

    Heart Rate Zone

    • The iMara Heart Rate Monitor allows you to create a heart rate zone for your workouts. When you set the heart rate zone, the monitor will notify you if you are above or below your heart rate zone. To set the heart rate zone, press the mode button until you are in "Cron" mode. Hold the upper left button on the watch piece until "HR Zone" is in the display. Press the upper right button to turn the heart rate zone on.

Next, press the bottom left button to choose between beats per minute or the percentage of maximum heart rate setting. Switch between the two modes, using the upper and lower right buttons. Once selected, press the lower left button. Use the two right buttons to enter the upper heart rate limit. Press the lower left button and set the lower heart rate limit. Press the left button and choose whether you want the alarm to sound when you are outside of the limits you set. Finally, press the lower left button twice to save your settings.

Once saved, start your workout as normal. If the alarm sounds, adjust your workout accordingly to move back into your target heart rate zone.
