How to Vacation in the Twin Cities
- 1). Visit Historic Murphy's Landing. Located just outside of Minneapolis, Murphy's Landing is a must-see when touring the area. Created to mirror life in the 1840s, the 88-acre park features people portraying characters from the era as well as building structures to showcase what life was like so many years ago.
- 2). Visit the Mall of America. When walking into this facility, you have to ask, "Is this the Mall of America, or is this America in a mall?" To describe the mall would be too overwhelming, and words cannot do justice to the experience of a visit. The building is an astounding 4.2 million square feet and is made up of four levels with an amusement park in the middle. There are more than 500 stores to shop from, including the nation's only QVC store. The Mall of America is located in Bloomington, a suburb of Minneapolis.
- 3). Visit the Minnesota Zoo. The zoo is made up of three different trails, an aquatics "bay" area and a petting zoo, all to accommodate nearly 2,500 animals who live there. Admission to the zoo is under $20 for each ticket, and the zoo is open every day of the year, except Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.
- 4). Visit Valleyfair. Children and adults of all ages will enjoy a visit to this amusement park located near the Twin Cities. Valleyfair spreads out over 90 acres and adds a new multimillion-dollar ride each season. In addition to the exciting rides, Valleyfair is also home to numerous shows and a water park.
