  Deep Creek Lake is located in Maryland's Garrett County, a picturesque country area of mountains, rivers and lakes. It is the largest fresh water lake in the state, and if you're planning a visit to the area, there is a variety of activities to entertain the kids all day long. Horse Riding

• Take your children horseback riding in Deep Creek Lake, with Circle R Ranch's hour-long trail rides. Bookings are not necessary and riding is available for children 7 years and up. All riders will have a professional trail guide who will take you through wooded hillside and apple orchards along the journey. Pony rides are also available for those those not wanting to ride horses, at $10 per pony. All riders should be dressed comfortably and wear shoes or boots with a heel.
  
  

Smiley's Fun Zone and Pizzeria

• Located in Deep Creek Lake, off Route 219, Smiley's offers kids a large variety of adventurous activities, including arcade games, bumper boats, batting cages and mini golf. The Pizzeria has kid's meal deals with spaghetti, pizza and chicken fingers on offer, as well as discounts and specials. As of 2010, admission to the fun park starts at $1 for 16 pitches in the batting cage, and $8 bumper boats and go carts.
  
  

Family Fishing Tours

• Have the kid fish with a professional along the Deep Creek Lake, with full or half-day trips. All ages are welcome on the tours, and all group sizes. You'll be taught the Deep Creek fishing secrets for catching bass, walleye and trout. Those wishing to go on a family fishing outing need to make reservations with DJ, via telephone.
